Has anyone heard of this treatment for Cryptocaryonosis?

Thanks,

Nothing new there. However all those various recomendations are not very reliable in their results. Many antibiotics do have anti protozoan capabilities however are not particularily effective against Cryptocaryon irritans. The metrondiazole is typically only effective against deep tissue anaerobic protozoans, not exactly how I would describe Crypt.

Thanks for your response, Bill.

The thing that has me most confused is the claim that it can remain dormant in the fish until stress activates it and that autopsies confirm this. I had never before heard anyone claim that it was capable of remaining dormant in the fish.

Thanks again,

Ninong :D

whoops, I missed that part :eek1:

I never heard of dormant cysts on a fish before. I have heard of low level subclinical infections, not dormant.
