View Full Version : Large Crocea clam So Cali

Project Reef
05/16/2003, 12:31 AM
I have a very large crocea clam for sale or trade.
He's extremely healthy with awesome mantle extension.
He is bright green when viewed from above and purple/green through the glass. Very nice clam.

He's quite large for a crocea about 6" in length. I'm open to all offers and trades.

He's too big for my tank, I know that sounds funny since croceas are usually in the 2-3" range, but he's taking up valuable real-estate.

That's Dave, but I'm not really interested in clams. I have enough as it is. Although a 3" ultra maxima would be welcomed.

Man I know you got some good stuff Scott, but I already got the sps that are going into this system waiting for me. I'm not going to pack a bunch in this time. I'm going to let maybe 10-12 colonies sit and grow.

o2manyfish
05/16/2003, 02:32 AM

Scott I hope that's not the green one you got from me... Cause the green one wants to come back here !!!!

Dave

Project Reef

Keep your ultra max, IMO ultra maximas blow other clams out of the water. This is a very nice clam, but I'd take a smaller ultra maxima over it any day.

Dave I'm done with sps frags, But I know you got some connections for the massage palor.

sberman
05/16/2003, 02:35 AM
you got to stop calling your frags a frag they are small colonies if anything

sberman
05/16/2003, 02:38 AM
no dave the green is not going anywhere i have a 3 and a 4 inch ultra

i think i have like 6 or 8 clams now

sorry ali did not mean to step on your thread will stop now

Okay so he's looking for a Massage for a happy ending for a silly green clam....

You know I have clams, and access to the happy endings.... So it seems like your clam isn't likely to come to my house of treasures and pleasures.

Maybe someone will offer you a large can of Tetra flakes for it !!!!

Ali,

How about a Rio 1700 Pump, with partially melted cord, dripping insulation, and a nice acrid baked smell ?

A pound of Chaetomorpha ?

20lbs of Scott's Live Sand I am silt sitting?

2 Lbs of genuine coral skeletons, to be used in a Calcium Reactor?

134 Genuine Fish Bag rubber bands ?

3 Small Mantis shrimp, guaranteed to rid your tank of any late night peace and quiet.

There must be something here to trade.

Dave

Do you have any cool chairs from Ikea? If so I'll take that instead.

o2manyfish
05/16/2003, 02:54 AM
Ali,

Cause I like you I am going to throw in the GFI outlet as well.

Of course the Rio Plug is kind of welded into the socket. You might have to pick at some of the blackened plastic to see the connectors are there.

I also drilled a 3" #8 Galvinized screw through the back of the outlet. Everytime the Rio pump started to spin the GFI circuit would trip.

Now that I reamed a screw through the outlet it won't shut off on you anymore.

Let me know when you wanna come pick it up. I will unplug it so it cools down enough for us to be able to touch it with the welding gloves.

o2manyfish

Pierce,

Nice timing... Now you offer Scott something special. Yesterday afternoon we hang out for hours in the backyard talking corals, and he is smoking is Mini Cigars. And now you offer him something pleasant to smoke.

Or is that one of those specially rolled stogies you make out of Nori and dried digitiata with Mangrove leaves?

Hey Scott,

Polishing the Knob can be hard work. I am glad you found a power tool to make "polishing" a little easier !!

The puppy broke her toe nail all the way inside the toe last night. Vet says she will be ok in a week or so, although she is going to most likely loose the toe nail. But she is still moping around the house today.

Hurry up with the polishing cause there is alot of Digitata sitting here to fill in the blank spots.

Dave

cali_reef
05/23/2003, 02:02 AM
Dave,

You should have a fire sale on them digitata, I had to try really hard to give my away.

The clam and the angel are doing well, thanks again.

Project Reef
05/23/2003, 02:06 AM
Guys if you have any digi's my buddy will take them. He just got into sps recently and is looking for hardy sps.

Hey Scott, Pierce and Ali...

It's almost like our own personal thread.

Those 2 tiny Maxima's are turning out pretty cool. The super tiny clam is Black with a little gold on the mantle bumps.

And the large one is definitley purple polkadots on white.

So far they are doing great.

Pierce glad to hear you Angel is doing well. Mine went in the tank and I haven't seen it since....

Dave

cali_reef
05/23/2003, 01:09 PM
Dave,

Mine hides too, but I can see him\her thru the holes.

Project Reef
05/23/2003, 04:57 PM
I really need to get out there and check out your set-up dave. How are the corals doing without any shielding at all? Clams probably do great without the shielding though.

o2manyfish
05/23/2003, 05:02 PM
So far things are going well.

I just added a piece of plate glass over one portion to see how that works for a bit.

Joe Kelley was over this afternoon, he recommened some different sun shade ideas.

Let me know when you want to come visit. Now that the nice weather is here I will be out boating a lot of the weekends.

But the weather is pleasant in the evenings and at night, just give me a holler.

And the Clams are absolutely stunning in today's light.

Dave

Project Reef
05/23/2003, 05:06 PM
Cool Dave I'll let you know. BTW, do you have any fish in the outside system? I've always wondered if birds or cats would go after them.

Project Reef
05/23/2003, 05:07 PM
Can we please move this thread to the SCMAS forum?

o2manyfish
05/23/2003, 05:08 PM
Currently in the outside system I have a purple tang in each tank. I have a fox face in one of the tanks.

I want to add a juvenile Red Sea Emperator. But I am looking for someone to grow one out inside at the same time to see the growth difference in the sunlight as well as the color. The purples outside are growing much faster than the purple inside And I never feed the outside tanks.

Joe Kelley
05/26/2003, 10:25 AM
I hope we do some trades. I got to get him over to my house. I really am lovin my 180 right now and I got tons of work to do "IN" that tank. The frag swap should be really fun. I feel like I had too many tanks to give any one of them the all the sweet lovin that they need. Now I'm feelin it. I might go with 2 part for a while and off the reactor just to get PH way up.
Don't eat that clam Ali!:D

OXO
