I'm going to Home Depot on Port Washington Ave. today when I get off work, if they don't have any I'll be interested in a couple of bags. I signed up for WRS also.

Here is usually what goes on at the meetings. Once you are a paid member ($25 single or $35 family) you can get in on the club raffles. $1 per ticket, you can buy as many as you want. I draw 6 tickets per meeting. Those winners then pick a ticket that matches a secret prize. I also raffle off a club T-shirt at each metting. One per member.

As far as buy/trade goes. Most members bring a cooler to the meetings. There is usually stuff traded or given away. Once you become a member it really is a good family. Everyone helps everyone out. That club membership goes a long way.

Plus, Scott, from Gooch's Corals brings corals to the meetings to raffle off for the clubs benefit. If you are ever looking for nice corals I would highly recommend taking a drive up to DePere and seeing Scott. He has one of the best coral selections in the state. Not only are his prices great but he has a passion for the hobby and won't stear you wrong. He will guide you and help you pick out corals that will do good in your tank. He won't just sell you anything. His link is on the WRS site.

Kohler still has it. It is a stock item there. I have no clue why the other store had some. Kohler is the only state store that stocks it. eric

I live a few minutes away from the Kohler Home Depot. I can deliver SD sand anywhere I travel if I know well-enough in advance to pick some up.

I think I may have to show up in Wales for this "meeting".

So anyways, what all goes on in the meetings? I'd hate to show up and look like a clueless tard.

I'm hoping someone will have a scoop of "established" SouthDown sand I can seed my cycling 29G with :) Maybe dump a bit into my 20H littered with crushed coral, whose inhabitants will be moved to the 29 when it's ready.

I live off of 10th and North.

As far as the meetings go. You won't feel like a tard. Everyone is great and the meetings are a fun time. I do raffles and we usually have a topic that we discuss. We go over club financials and things like that.

It ia really a great social gathering for those who share the same interest in the hobby. People usually come to the meetings with a coolr because you never know what other members will bring to give away or trade.

We do the sand swap allot. All you have to do is get on the club mailer (go to the WRS website and sign up) Then RSVP that you will be coming to the meeting. Then just send an email to the club that you are looking for a scoop of sand. You will probably get 10 people who will bring you a cup.
