I don't know about others here, but I was wondering if it's possible to get or have a demo on how to make frags. From the cutting/pinching to creating bases for the new frags. I know I am a newbie and afraid to learn by change and error.

There's a book named "Book of Coral Propagation" by Anthony Calfo. I haven't finished the book yet, but I believe it eventually discusses how to frag. It covers many other aspects of reef keeping also.

Im no expert but ill gladly frag a zenia and a SPS at the meeting...dooh wait i need to get some putty or glue befor i do....

Greenman, that would be great. I getting a Capnella, and from the photo it is large. So I would like to learn how to frag it. What do you guys think of Capnella's?

I had a capnella way back when... was a pretty easy keeper- did well. To frag it I would probably try cutting off a branch and use some kind of open weave netting to hold it to a piece of rubble.

But anyway,


Thats what i do with the xenia cut them and use a net to tie them to a peace of small rock or a shell. They start to over grown the rock fast so watch so they dont grow into the net :)

Well I am getting it this weekend. The size should be 4x6. So I was thinking of Fraging it for trade. Anybody want to trade for a piece?

Im going to buy some big colonies soon .....
Im still in the process of interviewing for a new job so once im back with a good job ill be setting up a SPS grow out tank :)

Hopfully Vmiller will still have the used iwaski setup for sell once i get it up and running ...

Got it all this morning- had to go in to work right after but it looks super.
