about how big do derasas, squamosas, croceas and maximas get in tanks. lets assume adequate lighting and calcium levels. currently i have a derasa and crocea and plan to add a maxima and squamosa. i want to give them adequate growing room and do not want to put anything to close. currently my clams are about 4 inches in lenghth. also does anyone know were i can mail order a nice squomosa. most lfs only carry the other poular species. thanks for any help

I know gigas clams can exceed a meter in length, and croceas rarely reach 10 inches in captivity. Those are all I know offhand. Here's a great resource that might be able to provide you with more info:

Okay, I couldn't stand not knowing the answer, so I looked it up (these numbers according to Knop):
Derasa: up to 23.4 inches.
Crocea: up to 6 inches.
Gigas: over 39 inches.
Maxima: 30-40 cm (14-18 inches)
Squamosa: up to 16 inches.
