Hi,

I'm trying to ID this algae, it seems to have taken over my tank.

I can't tell if it is the dreaded bryopsis or if it may be Feather Calurpa. It is growing on everything, Glass, PVC, sand...

I've checked some sites that have descriptions, but can't tell.

What I have for the most part seems to have one stem and looks like feathers, some do have a branch or a y-split.

Does Bryopsis always have alot of branches?

Also it isn't a dark green as the pictures of Bryopsis I have seen.

Thank you for any help,

Scott

It's not Bryopsis or Caulerpa. It is some kind of filimentous algae, likely something you want to remove as much as possible of since it is taking over your tank.

That is some ugly stuff. Your tank looks very sickly. :(
Perhaps you need a cleanup crew to aid in your maintenance.
Good luck getting rid of that green stuff.:blown:
When you do I'll be happy to celebrate with you!!
