I am trying to locate a supplier that sells Phillips 03 actinics in bulk pricing. Can anyone shed some "blue" light on this?:)

Couldn't you find the phillips catalogue number and get the local hardware store to order it for you?

Thanks moonpod...I guess I'll do that if I can't find anyone on the Internet.

One of the service guys that I know tried to do this. Marched down to one electrical supply companies armed with all the relevant business licences and paperwork and ended up walking out with light bulbs that cost quite a bit more than from the traditional "aquarium" wholesale supply route. Poor guy, it was good for a laugh though. If I recall each bulb was nearly $30 when the same bulb was less than $20 from the aquarium supply company. Scale of economy thing.

Likely you'd have to buy hundreds (at least mutliple cases) of bulbs at once to get the costs per bulb down to where it would be worth while. Then there's the issue of just what are you going to do with those hundreds of bulbs you've just bought.

I think that the Product Number: 046677-30807-2
and the Descrition: TLK40W/03
This would be a 4ft, 40 watt bulb

Searched for actinic 03, hope it helps.

URI used to distribute the Phillips actinics along with their own lamps. I am not sure now, but that is how I previously purchased them. You could contact a LFS that deals with URI directly and see if they could get them for you. For a frame of reference, I use to sell the 48" 40 watt Phillips actinic for $14.99 vs. the URI's for $29.99.

Maybe you're not aware, but normally when you buy alot of something, like a case of 30 bulbs, you get each bulb for cheaper than you would normally.

Don't watch television, don't have the time because I'm either on the Internet, fragging coral, or installing and maintaining aquariums;)

Well it looks like the orignal Phillips 03 Actinic is not being offered any more? This Thread (http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4076) kind of explains it! It looks like URI might be selling them under their name now? That could explain URI's new economical Aqua D-Light series?

According to the URI website the new D-Light series bulbs are the same URI bulbs without the internal reflector.
