I have a 55 gallon tank and am going to go with a 250w 20,000K MH. I am going to supplement this light w/ two 96w 10K pcs. Since there is limited amount of space I have to put the MH in the middle of the tank and the pc's behind it.

My question is will my sps be happy on the side? Or will I have to think of a better way of positioning the lights.

My tank is a 55 gallon tall.

Thank you

I am guessing you are using the pendant type MH. It's best to position 1 around every 3 feet so my thought is 2 150's would be better than 1 250. If you stick with your current idea, keep the light hungry corals in the middle under the MH. Other corals can be placed on the sides that don't require as much light. Trial and error will tell. My experience has been sps will turn brown rather quickly if they are not getting enough light. Just my experience. I don't think there is any better way to do it.

I will be putting this light under a canopy.
