Is www.hellolights.com still the best place for MH bulbs? Any other places?

This is by far the best prices I've seen. Great service too, from what I've heard.

The 10k 175w and 250w bulbs at the bottom of the page are only 40 and 50 dollars, respectively, and they look almost exactly like ushios.

They have the 175W 10,000K - Ushio - Out of Stock for $65.00

So far that is the 2nd cheapest I have found it...

In first place we have...

I'm still looking too..

ALSO does anyone know where I can get a Sunlight Supply Reef Optix II cheaper than $52.99 (http://www.il-solutions.com/)

Ok just so I dont have to start a new thread, any preferences on bulbs from people, 10K? Ushio, AB, Blueline, ummm whatever else is out there? I'm looking to go without actinics and have a nice blue/white look. Thanks!

i need to replace 3-250w 10K USHIO's too...

that price of $50 per bulb from...

http://www.petsupplyliquidator.com/htm/replacementbulbs_metalhalide.htm

...sure seems to good to be true...i cant even find a phone # to call and talk to someone...that would be the best price ive ever seen...im sure thats not for a ushio or hamilton bulb...

ive also heard of vendors on ebay selling bulbs cheap...then people get them and have horror stories...IMO, go with what you know to be quality bulbs the first time...

marine depot has them (USHIO's) in stock for $95 per bulb with free shipping...(if you buy three)

hello lights has them for $89 plus shipping (so about the same price total)....

i think premium aquatics is still out of them...there price is $95 per bulb too i think...

forgot your other question...

the 10K 250w USHIO gives off a nice crisp white look...i didnt wanna run any other lighting either, and im really happy with the look...

doing research on this and other boards, alot of people really like the look and output/results with the 10K USHIO...(FYI...the hamilton 10K bulb is the same bulb as the ushio...just with there name stamped on it)

if you want a more blue look, maybe look into the 12K, 14K or 20K bulbs?...i dont know much about these...:D

I bought a pair of the 175 watt 10 ks from petsupplyliquidator for $40 each and even though they are not Hamiltons or Ushios they do look a whole lot better than my old bulbs (5500ks). You can send them an e mail if you have any questions, they got back to me the next day with a question I had for them. I don't remember the name brand that was on the bulb and I have thrown the boxes out already. Skip

skipm,
What kind of ballast did you use on those bulbs you got? I think I have read somewhere that an electronic ballast won't fire those bulbs you need a pulse start ballast or something like that.As you can probally tell,I don't know much about MH lighting.I just fired up my MH for the first time last night, but the bulbs i am using are used ones, and I need to get some new ones real quick.
Thanks,
David
p.s.
I have mogul base sockets ,and the ballast came from customsealife.
