Ok just made a tour of HD's south of Boston:
They have Lights of America spotlite for $29.99, 6500k, 500 watt output - new Fluorex Technology. There is a $10 INSTANT Coupon (NO REBATE), so the total price is $19.99. The bulb alone costs $12.

For the house: Quincy Adams, MA HD (new one) has 23w CF (equiv to 100w) for $4, minus a $2 instant coupon for 2 bulbs (2 pak)!! Normal price is $4 a bulb

The bulb is a 65 watt Compact Flourescent 6500k bulb, package says its equiv to a 500watt lite. Model 9265, not listed on their web page. Bulb only matkins are: Lights of America 4U/65k (9166B) and on opposite side B0303.
Suitable for wet location (good!). Dusk to Dawn operation - includes a photocell, did not notice that. So perfect for reverse lighting (or just cover the photcell & put on a timer).
Plastic outer shell contrustion - won't rust. 2 year warranty excluding bulb.

Only catch on those things is that they break real easy. They're real cheap so it's not such a heart break, but I went through about three of 'em before giving up.
