Remora / Rio

Anyone have a noise problem with their Rio 800 on a Remora? Mine is so loud it's driving me crazy, I have checked for debris in the pump but there isn't anything in there. When I disconnect it from the skimmer and run it in the tank, it's nice and quiet. Only when it's got the back pressure from pumping water into the skimmer does it make noise (of course). Any suggestions?

You would be much better off upgrading to the more powerful Maxi-jet 1200 pump most remoras come with now. You will get better performance with the skimmer, it will run quieter, and it is much more reliable.
