I have a 1/4 hp Aqualogic Delta Star Chiller coming in soon. I want to know the people who own this line of chillers have it plumped.

Or for that matter can anyone with a inline chiller explain how they have it plumbed?

can anyone explain how to pump the thing?

What kind of info are you looking for? You will need to know the flow rate in GPM for your chiller and then you plan accordingly. I run mine on a seperate loop attached to my sump with a Quiet One pump. Others T off there main pump and deposit into tank via static returns, SS, etc.

I like the idea of running off a its own pump into the sump.
the min/max gpm is 8/20. Total flow through the sump is 1550 gph or 26 gpm.

I have a question the chiller only runs when the water is above a certain temp. so if I run the chiller on its own little loop this will not decrease the amount of flow being returned to the tank will it?

No, not if it's on a loop of it's own. If you do a loop from the sump to the sump, make sure you are measuring the temp upstream. Mine is set up so the pump and chiller go on at the same time when needed.

How do you get the pump and the chiller to come on at the same time?

I bought a dual temperature controller with my chiller. So all I did was plug the pump into it and both come on at the same time.

actually I can't quite remember if the pump is plugged into the dual temperature controller the I bought with the chiller. My husband bought this other controller and I think he used it to control the pump and the chiller on our other tank. Have to check on that.

I use an AQII.

run the chiller in line with part of your tank return. You want the chilled water going from your sump into the tank, not from the sump to the sump. Not as effecient that way.
