Hello,
I just got a new 150 gallon tank (72" long) with 2 - 36" Dual Bulb N.O. striplights. They crank out about 120 total watts of light and take up about 7" from the front of the tank to the back.
I found a great deal on a 3 bulb VHO setup (w/60" bulbs) and want to mount it in my canopy.
The question is this:
Can I mount my VHO bulbs toward the back of the tank, and keep my striplights over the front of the tank?
Since my tank is 18" front to back, that would leave about 11" of open space for the VHO bulbs to shine in, plus I would get the additional 120 watts from the striplights.
Good idea / bad idea?
