abs plastic hood prop up?

I have an all inclusive vho abs plastic hood on a 75 gall oceanic and I need to keep hood flush with front of tank due to plumbing.
the problem is now i cannot get to the top glass doors. i will have to take the hood down do do it. ( i do not have enough room to simply slide it back due to plumbing) i was thinking about a brace of some sort on the front side to lift it any suggestion?

Get rid of the glass!
Honestly thats the easiest solution, looks better too Imo. Other than that, theres always hanging the lights. If you felt overly DYI'ish you could attach brackets to your stand and run it up to hold the hood, but chances are its going to be visible somewhere and somewhat of an eyesore. (Everything around here needs to look pretty or the girlfriend gets upset)
