Frist time posting here, I usually lurk around but I am in need of some advice. I was wondering if I could somehow upgrade the lighting in my 20 tall. The problem is that it was a custom built tank and the hood is a 15"x15" cube. The lighting which is pretty old is a 12" fixture which uses a T5 12" 8watt bulb. I was wondering if i could change to another fixture or fixtures or use another bulb to get enough wattage to possibly start with some beginner corals. Any suggestions or opinons are welcome. I myself have come to the conclusion that its not possible but would like to hear some opinions.

Get a custom canopy or hang a pendant MH and you'll be able to keep anything.

Next, I think if you want to stay with that canopy you will need MH, these people do custom pretty reasonable, just drop them an e-mail with your requirements. http://www.petsupplyliquidator.com/htm/aprod_hood_solar.htm
