Has anyone noticed any real diffence or know any really differance between the icecap or the ishuo or the aqualine bulbs for the 150 hqi bulbs other than the price?

How funny. Hi Gregg! If you can make it through this thread, there is a LOT of opinion on this one. And some research ...

BTW, petsupplyliquidator has the Ushio DE 10000K for $50, the best deal I've seen. I got an Osram 10,000K and it burns extremely bright & white.

Hmm, I only read the first page, but it's about numbers. The funny thing I've always found is that corals don't understand numbers.

I've used 175s, 250s, 400s and 1kws of every flavor on both cap-and-can and electonic ballasts. Side by side with double ended 10K HQIs my corals always have grown best under the DEs.

Maybe they can see something we can't ?

Reefvet, what brand DE's do you use, and of what wattage. I just got a 150DE fixture & I love it. My tank is about 22" high, and it seems to light it up pretty well.

Any brand you prefer, and have you used the 20,000K? This is my first experience with MH.

Thanks!

I'm using 150s as well, the AB bulbs have been great in my experience. I haven't tried the 20Ks yet, but I will I'm sure.
