fragging frogspawn?

I have a branching frogspwan. It had 4 heads when I bought it now has 11 heads. can I frag this piece by simply cutting it down near the base of the skeleton. for example into 1 6 head and 1 five. I have had this guy for about 2 1/2 years and I sure dont want to kill it just make it a little smaller. And give some back for a change.

I have fragged my frogspawn probably a good half dozen times. It started out with 6 heads, at its largest it had over 15! I have always used a pair of side cutters/wire snippers to cut off pieces of this coral. As long as you are making the cuts somewhere on the skeleton where there is no exposed live tissue, it shouldn't matter too much where you cut it. This way you can frag one or many branches at a time. Sometimes I will even go back over it with a dremel tool to even out some of the jagged edges when I am done just to make it look a little more viewer friendly. HTH.
