They also bow out like mad. AAT (advance aqua tanks) makes Clear for life. They do custom work and can build a tank to your specifications. It does cost quite a bit more but the quality is far superior.

Any reasons why you don't want to go with glass?

Did you see the 24x24x20 Lee-Mar for sale in the Bay area?

AAT makes the clear-for-life tanks as mentioned above. they can custom make a tank to your specs for you. when i buy a house (assumng my reef doesn't suck me dry) i am going to see if AAT can make me a tank that is 48"x36"30" woohoo!

i was unaware that clear-for-life's bow. i have a custom clear-for-life 65 cube (i got it used) and it doesn't bow in the slightest, maybe its because the acrylic is a tad over 1/2" thick. :) the acrylic on my tank is super hard too. i drilled a few holes and when i dropped the acrylic that i just cut out, it sounded like glass hitting the floor, not plastic. simply amazing.

although clear-for-life's are more expensive than the average acrylic tank they are built like a tank and will last a long long time. my previous tank was a tru-vu, nice tank but the acrylic was so damn soft.

Come now Emperator,
Cast acrylic is usually cast acrylic.

You were just fortunate to have a 1/2" thick acrylic because the TRU-VU I used to have used only 3/8" acrylic for a 120 gallon. Boy did it bow.

Clear for life is more expensive because they buy out every competitor out there. :D

dat, not necessarily, i believe that there are different grades and brands of acrylic. i can seriously say that the acrylic used to make my clear-for-life 65g cube is much harder than the acrylic used on my tru-vu (boy did that tank bow).

Hey maybe you got an acrylic tank that is made of extruded acrylic. They do get hard and brittle like some of sumps I have too.
