Anyone know what kind of sea grass is found off the east coast of the Dominican Republic? Links to identification?

Thallasia, Halodule, Halophila, and Syringodium are listed in my Carribean field guide as being common.

This Smithsonian site has links at the bottom of the page to all of these seagrasses, including pics with physical descriptions: http://www.sms.si.edu/irlspec/Seagrass_Habitat.htm

If it's a flat-bladded grass taller than a foot, I'd guess your looking at Thallasia.

Thanks for the link. I've narrowed it down to three. I've got three "sprigs" going in my tank now. They max out at 6" but that could be a limit of the lighting, nutrients, sandbed, or plant species. I'll post a picture when I am home.

Does anybody know where I could get some seagrass? I can't seem to find anybody over the net that has some for sale. The ones that have it listed don't have any in stock. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.:mixed:

Thanks for the lead. I called bills and left a message- no reply yet. Unfortunately inland aquatics is out and so is another place Jeff's exotic fish. The search continues.
