I'll be in the capital city the end of next week, but I have most of Thursday free. I would like to see something reef or saltwater related. I was thinking maybe of the Smithsonian Natural History Museum ... Good choice? or anyone have a better suggestion?

Thanks.

Wayne - If you want to see something reef related, drive 40 minutes up I95 to Baltimore and visit the National Aquarium. Ain't nuthin' like that in DC. :D

Have a good trip.

Wayne,
I would also say go to the Baltimore aquarium. It is an excellent aquarium with some spectacular displays. There is also a lot to do within walking distance so you could make a day out of it.

Here is a link to their site: http://www.aqua.org/

Thank you.

I would have been very dissapointed if I had gone through with my original plans, and missed this golden opportunity.

Thanks for the link Nemo. Great stuff.

Has anyone been to the DC Aquarium? It's located in a huge government building a block up from the mall (on the Monument side), can't remember the street name...

When I was in DC last month I found the place; it has a little tiny door to get in, costs $3, and you have to go through a metal detector to enter. Being that time was short (with so much else to see), we choose to skip it, but I'd be interested in hearing what it's like.

I think you are talking about the one in the basement of the building.
I saw my first plenum tank in that building.
It took us about 1 hr to get through. My wife thought we should have been through in about 30 min.
