Today, while I was moving a coral that fell.. I pulled my hand out of my tank and a drop of water landed on my 250w MH bulb and the outer glass exploded! The bulb still works but I have been told that the UV rays it puts off now are harmful. Does anyone in the area have a 250w bulb that I could use till next week when the new one comes in?

Thanks

Josh

This situation sucks!!! :( I do not have a 250 MH however some suggestions, Put a piece of uv glass between the tank and light and keep thew light rays away from you, this can be dangerous however, another option, I have a 18" PC that I use for my reefugum that will keep some corals alive for a few weeks, Another option is to go to Home Depot and buy a $25 250 watt MH however these are very yellow in comparison to Aquarium bulbs and should not be used longer than needed. I hope this helps

Josh,

While I don't have a bulb for you, I will copy this to the SEASL forum (St. Louis Reefers) to see if you can get more responses.

Josh,
I might be able to get one but I will not know until Saturday noon. Send me an email if you are still interested.

Sorry to hear that. I did that a few weeks ago with my 2 month old Radium. I'll see if I have an extra one too.

josh, i don't know if you still need one but i have one at my house you could run by and pick it up. it is 5500k, really yellow but it would work and save you money instead of buying one from HD. PM me and let me know
