All,

Just curious if anyone knows why a clam I've had for about three years decided to spawn today. I have no other clams in the system and my Aquacontroller shows no "significant" change in enviroment.

Thanks.

Perhaps it has simply reached maturity (at 7", I think a crocea, the smallest of the Tridacnids, is near full grown), and the conditions are so good that it did what comes naturally.

The only other reason I can think of is that the clam was stressed in some way, but if this is not so, I would guess that the clam has simply matured and is trying to make little clams. :D
