I have two different patches or colonys both appear to be similar. I think Protopalythoa.
One colony opens up beautifully and the other about half way.
What is the deal with this ?
They are both under the same amount of lighting, LFS told me they should be in a dark covered place not directly under MH, but neither one opened up then. Ever since I put them under the light they appear to like it better. Although one doesn't open all the way...Also in my oponion they seem to like to be flat or horizontal as opposed to at an angle or leaning on a rock.
Any opinions. This is how I am perceiving them mabe I'm all wrong. Not alot of experience with them and need some help.
Thanks

Are they both large oral disked with a trumpet like stem? or is one of them short stemmed, with flat small oral disks and short tenticles. The latter is a palythoa that likes shade, the former type is a bigtime light lover.
