Is it just me or are clams a popular reef specimen? Also why is it there really isnt a special clam tank for making viewing simple?

Clams are indeed getting popular, probably because of their beauty and ease of care (under the right conditions).

There is indeed a clam viewing tank available, and I think it was designed by Knop himself. The top third of the front glass is sloped back at a 45-degree angle so you can look directly down at your clams.

I have no idea, but it might be in the Knop book, or if Knop has a website it might be there. I think it's 60 gallons, but don't quote me on that one. :D

It's in the Knop book, page 178 shows the tank. It has a 45 degree angled front piece of glass. The book says a very powerful skimmer introducing gaseous turnover is required because there is diminished surface area for gas exchange. It is cool looking.

There is a guy on one of these boards from the bay area(cali) that had a custom acrylic tank made. The shape/style is the same as the knop tank except that it's acrylic. sorry can't remember the url for it. I do remember that the tank was made through one of the more popular acrylic tank manufacturers so maybe you could just try them.
