The local reef store here has tons of this Halameda algae, I decided to add some to our nano. Looks ok.

They sell a large bunch of it the size of a mans hand for 9.99

looks pretty nice: just remember tht halmedia is a calcerous algae, and will eat up your calcium levels, much like SPS, LPS or a clam. If that's the only heavy calcium-dependent item in your tank, just keep an eye on your calcium level.

Some people that dose largere SPS tanks try to avoid keeping it, since it competes pretty heavily for the calc content in their tanks.

How does one propagate that stuff, I have a rather large amount of it and would love to take it in for credit at my LFS.

I would think you could just snip and mount to a small rock with zap gel or super glue gel like a hard coral.

You can basically just set it next to a rock and it will grow on to it. If the system is right it will grow like a weed. I started out with a hand full of it, and with in 6 months i ened up with almost 2lbs of it. In my 25gl, it went from the front wall to the back wall, from top to bottem, and was about 2-3ins thick. I finally got tired of looking at it so i took it all out. The only down side is the leaves that die off, will just sit at the bottem since a large part of them is CA they never compelety decay.
