Fred Meyer usually carries Ball's in their "canning" section. I think it's usually about a buck a pound.

and what is pickled lime used for? some sorta acidic kalk mixture? ha!

Wal Mart, Giant
Some people use Pickling line instead of Kalk. It is the same but is food grade.
search RC for Pickling Lime and you will find all kinds of info.

Didn't find it at the fred meyers I went to. Which one do you shop at?
I'll check at walmart if I can find one around here, never heard of "Giant".

Giant are food stores on the East coast ... hehe

I was in a Giant over Thanksgiving :)

Oh, I forgot.. I know that Wal-Mart has them and they are by the jars, canning section:) :D

FYI, I've found it at the Fred Meyer on Lake City Way (north of 125th) in Seattle. QFC should have them too.

In high school, I was a courtesy clerk (i.e., bag boy) at Giant in MD. :D
