I was wondering what kind of worm I have in my reef tank. It
brown and white striped and the the belly looks to be white.
Brown segment then a white segment then brown ect. When it comes out of the live rock the brown segment comes out of the white segment then the white comes out of the next brown segment Each segment comes out of the next one. The mouth on looks to have short feather duster type tenticles that will pick up a piece of sand and drag it back with it then it comes back out and grabs something else. It comes out when I feed or at night. I do have pics of it.
Any Ideas will be appreciated as I have researched and have asked different lfs and nobody can tell me what it is.

Hi,

Sorry, from your description I can't do it.

How about some pictures?

I have pics of the worm at this location. Couldn't get one of it's mouth though but you can see the body markings.

Hi,

Your worm is a sipunculan or "peanut worm."

They are harmless and, I think, interesting.

Here is some information about them:

I have these worms in my reef aswell, don't know what there called but they sure are neat to watch. The best part about a reef tank is you never know what will pop-up next but there's a good chance it'll blow your mind.Whatever they are they appear to be harmless.
