Howdy all- I just wanted to let people in the area know that I am now taking orders for skimmers, sumps, waste collectors, and overflows. I am working on kalk and calcium reactors too, and will be able to make those within a month or so.

If you made it to the last meeting, Kevin had a prototype skimmer there, for 150-750 gallon systems, and people with a fish room for it. I've since made improvements to it, i.e. key-hole flanges, and a better Beckett injector system. I also make much smaller Beckett skimmers for under-tank use.

See DIY Monster Beckett (http://archive.reefcentral.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131865) for the DIY on the skimmer.

I can also offer acrylic tube, flanges and glue if you want to DIY your own system.

I'm offering a 10% discount to PSAS members, just include your member number in the email to me.

Thanks!

I just finished up another skimmer design. This one is for much smaller tanks than my last one. Total size is 20.5" high, 7" x 10".

I think it may be the smallest Beckett skimmer around. :)

Here are a couple of pictures:

I have inspected the new compact skimmer and it is very nice and will fit under any standard stand. I will be attending the PSAS meeting Sat. and can provide free delivery. I will also take orders for coral frags. Check my website for selection. Pricing is 15-$35 depending on size and rarity. Email me for details or call (509) 927-7785 anytime.

Regards,
Kevin

Zephrant, ever thought of doing custom tanks...maybe in the 15-30 gal range with a built in sump/refugium compartment built into the back?

Skylsdale- That's a neat idea, but I like the challenge of a good sump design more. Designing the water flow for best use of space is kind of fun. That said, if you have something in mind I'd be happy to look at it.

Hi Zeph,

Since you like to have fun with custom sumps... I have been racking my brain on how to design a sump that will allow me to run a hang on protein skimmer w/submersible pump. The sump is for a 29 gallon tank and the stand is custom built. Basically the biggest the sump could be would be 16" long 10 1/2" wide and 24 inches tall. Let me know what you think and how much. I live in Kent, WA.

Hi Goldscarf- Can you fit the skimmer off of the end of the sump, and have it still draw water from inside the sump? Maybe a small baffle to catch the water from the skimmer, and direct it down to the sump without splashing could be made too.

Thanks-

Zeph
