MH Lights? Help

Hi. What watt of Metal halide should i get for my 55 gallon TUB aquarium? Mostly for softies and a few clams. Like T. Maxima possibli and some Pom Pom Xenia. One more thing =), If i get MH will algea go out of control? If it does how will i control this.
This will help very much if u cant answer all questions just help me with one. It still will help

What are the dimensions of the tank and how far below the water surface will the corals be? Personally, if you are looking to keep softies and T. Maximas, I would go with 250 watt MHs.
