I am very new to hobby and am in the process of setting up first tank. Looking from pointers from local people that might let me actually come see their setups. I'm reading my butt off but until I can see some things in person, nothing completely makes sense.
Thanks,
Charley

I thought you'd have better luck in this forum where the Dallas/Ft. Worth folks hang out. Good luck.

Skipper,
Thanks...that just shows how new to this I am. I didn't realize there are forums for the different area MASs. I hope it helps too, but so far nothing as you can see.

Charley,
I am way down in Glen Rose so I am not sure if you want to drive out. I service tanks and have several different set ups. None at the house are currently set up properly for a reef display. I am not sure what you are wanting to see or learn about, but if I can help let me know.

Hi Charley,

I'd encourage you to join the DFWMAS and come to the XMAS party with us on Dec 14 (It's free for club members!). There will be lots of folks there, and many have some awesome setups sitting at home. I'm sure if you met some people face to face they would be delighted to invite you over.

Here's a link to the club site:

Hope to see you there!

I'd love to join DFWMAS, unfortunately I work kind of odd hours and would never be able to attend any meetings/socials or anything. I am desperately seeking other employment, so hopefully this won't always be an issue.

Robert,

I know the invitation wasn't for me, but sometime I'd like to see your 125 long setup. I'll be joining DFWMAS in January and plan on attending the Jan. meeting. I've currently got a 10-gal nano, but am saving for a 100-gal+ tank. I'll be building a custom canopy/base.

See you in January...

Ross,
Sure any time. I will be at the Jan meeting. I usually have a #3 Dale Earnhardt Hat on.

Thanks Robert.

Oh, and Charlie, I'm in Hurst and have a 10-gal nano reef you can take a look at if you're interested. I've got a custom hood/base.

Thanks for the offer. BTW...nice tools...I'm very jealous. My wife is afraid that if I get a table saw she'll never see me again. I just built my stand and canopy and had to use all hand held tools. There were so many things I couldn't do. Oh well, I'm proud anyway.

Bulldogger1, and anyone else that lives in your area. There is a new LFS in Waxahachie that has a real nice selection of corals, much better than pet land in Arlington and a much more knowlegable staff and cleaner tanks. It's on the main drag on 77 hwy off 287. JFYI:D

Charley,

I'm in Ft Worth near Hulen Mall if you'd like to check out a few tanks. :) Just let me know what time would be good for you.
