Agu,
Any word of a January meeting?
Jan and Feb meetings are set up. Made an executive decision and meetings will be the third Sunday of the month from 4pm to 6pm (or longer if it's OK with the host).
January 20th will be at Cory and Jennas in Sarasota , just a few blocks from Coral Connection. They just set up a new tank , I believe it's a 120 but correct me if I'm wrong.
Feb 17th I'll be hosting in Venice. I have very low tech nano tanks that are to a degree species specific.
We still have the option of meeting at New College as a future meeting.
It would be great to get hosts for the rest of the year so people can plan ahead. Feel free to post or email me to volunteer.
Drives300 aka Anthony has reserved March 16th to host a meeting :D. We're down to nine months this year, grab your month while it's still available.

A few ideas for the meetings:
1) Lets make the meetings where you bring a food dish to pass. This reduces the cost for the host and makes it less stressful.
2) Meetings should be family friendly, but parents should still use extreme caution. Just because you let your kid do it doesn't mean the host does.
3) Also if there is any interest, we could do a frag swap/auction. Just be pre-warned and if you have any bugs/algaes/pest, please notify users when selling/swapping. Also, as a buyer, you should be responsible and remember that the only thing that gets into your tank is what you put in it!
4) Also, maybe some time of time line for the meeting would be nice. IE:
4-415 Talk/mingle
4:15-445: Host talks about tank, answers questions
4:45-5: Eat
5-5:30:Discussion on a pre determine topic (Water Changes, skimming, lighting, corals, fish, etc)
5:30-6:Frag auction/Mingle/hang around..
This is just an idea, please add any if you have some...
I like it Cory. However other than the eating part it might be like trying to herd cats ;) .
You try it and I'll try it too .............
April, May June, July, etc are still available but they're going fast.
Summer seining in Sarasota Bay is another option. Who had the educational permit that would cover the club?

Leo,
Nice looking tank you have there. PM me your email address, and I can send you the latest email we have about the January 20th meeting. We arent really formal here, so we have no documentation. If you are interested in hosting, try to make it to one of the meetings and see how they go.

Corey,
Did you do a reply to all about the meeting ? I suggest sending a reminder about three days before the meeting.
Rainmaker, send me an email and I'll add you to the list.
