Coming to SD 1/08-must see's??

We are coming to San Diego for a couple days next month (from St Louis)--is there anything a saltwater enthusiast MUST SEE? We have never been there and can't spend a lot of money. We (wife and I) really want to see the "world famous" zoo.

We were also wondering about whale watching cruises or something else SW related. Any suggestions?

We just want to have a few days of R&R. Thanks!!

Try the SoCal Forum. They are closer to SD. I do know of an awesome little aquarium near Torrey Pines Golf Course. It's in La Jolla. It's called Scripps Aquarium, and it's by University of California San Diego. Of course, there's Sea World also. You can go snorkeling in La Jolla Cove. It's very cool. Rent a wet suit! The Cove is a little protected section of water, where there are a ton of different kinds of fish. It is soo much fun. You can just float around and look down, and the fish swim all around you. That's pretty much all I can think of SW wise. There are a ton of different Whale Whatching places. You just gotta pick one. Good luck, and have fun.
