I just got an 8 gallon biocube.
What is a good stocklist?

How about a goby pistol shrimp combo? Personally, i wouldn't put more than one fish in there. My BioCube 14 (notice its "BioCube 14", not "BioCube 14 gallons") is probably only really 10 gallons. (I measured it and used the tank size calculator) I'm sure the BC 8 is like only 5 or 6.

I have a Biocube 14, after I put in 10lbs of live sand and 18lbs of live rock I think only added about 10 gallons of water. I keep a Clown and a Hectors Goby in the tank.

In that Biocube 8, I would say one fish or two really really small ones. My clown was super small when I got him originally, maybe 1/2" if he was or she was lucky. The hectors goby is about 1.5" I would say.

Good luck with your tank!

What kind of sps is that in the upper left?

What kinds can you keep under the biocube 8 lighting?

oh and cool tank btw.

I had(have) a two gallon pico that was stocked to the brim with coral just like yours.

I really like it that way.
I have like 20 different corals in that tank.
This was actually an upgrade, So I could get more :)

Are any SPS suitable for this tank, or are they totally out of the question?

Buttons -- The sps is a part of a Montipora cap, I placed it very close to the top of the tank for the brightest light. I have also added another 24 watt pc bulb for a total of 3, 24 watt pc lights. I did the nanotuners upgrade lighting for the biocube 14. I have also added another power head for water flow in the bottom left corner of the tank. I have also changed the stock pump out with a maxijet 900.

Oh and as far as sps's go with these tanks, I think the piece I have is about all your going to get away with. Non of the really nice pieces are going to live or thrive under the low watts of the pc's and water flow isn't enough in these tanks either. Just my personal thoughts on it, I really do feel each tank is different than the next and each piece of coral is going to react different than the next one... so you never know!

Good luck with your new tank!
