12g nanocube chambers ?

What are people putting in the chambers in these nano cubes i know people are changing whats in them but what is being changed and why and which chambers are people putting them in

I'm starting mine up this week and I plan on putting some carbon and LR rubble in chamber #1, LR rubble and chaeto in chamber #2 (lit by an Azoo palm light externally as a small refugium), and pump/heater in chamber #3.

I hear everyone complains that the bioballs are nitrate factories so i'm excluding them. I might occasionally use a small cut up portion of the sponge to capture particles when needed.

I run the sponge filters in the first, carbon in the second. My tank stays clear, but I also don't have any fish.

First chamber I have floss and my back up thermometer, second chamber i have carbon and phosphate remover, and third I have the heater and stock return pump.

Chamber 1: filter floss
Chamber 2: Pump for chiller, LR
Chamber 3: Return from chiller, return pump

2: fuge lit from outside by cutting vinyl
3: heater and return
Nitrates have always been zero, and I have only cleaned my sponge maybe once in the last year. Don't tell anyone.

SO im thinkin about doing this...

Chamber 1: Saphire skimmer
Chamber 2: Small refugium with cheato and light
Chamber 3: LR crumbles on top of my return pump n heater.

How's that sound???

I think the crumbles on top the return will become a problem.
You need do be able to get the pump out, and it may vibrate against the sides.

good lookin out! Thanks. I think im just gonna throw some LR in chamber 2. So ill have this:

chamber 1: saphire skimmer
chamber 2: LR crumbles
chamber 3: heater and return pump.

Should be fine with that since I have enough LR and sand in the tank. When I do water changes I usually suck out the crap on the bottom of the chambers so I dont mess up my parameters...

Hooray for 4 day weekend! Im going coral fraggin at my friends tomorrow. YAY! haha
