its about time to pick up a new bulb for my 24NC. i was thinking about going with a 20k bulb instead of the 14k i have right now. i was just wanting to see some photos to help me make my decision! thanks in advance!! by the way, it's a 150w MH.

I don't have any personal pics right now to help, though this link might...

hey, thanks for the link! i really like my 14k right now, but i can't tell which (14k or 20k) bulb gives more color from the corals. i see the more blue with the 20k, which i like because it looks like you are under the water looking at it.

Yeah I guess the 20K will have more of a blue tint and probably overall less growth than the lower K rated bulbs.

For this reason in my tank I want to have 6,500 or 10,00 K MH and then actinic T5 supplement for high growth and some colour (actinic).

It's really hard to tell how a bulb will look in your particular set up.... Which sucks.

FWIW, camera's have a weird tendency for not even being close to actual colors of the lights..

It makes my icy blue crisp 14k's look plain white, and my friends 14k's look purple.
