The 18 watt 50/50 PC light fixture on my decokit3 just went out AGAIN after only 2 mos! Was unable to find just the light fixture last time and brow-beat an LFS manager into selling me one out of a kit on the shelf. Have since contacted the manufacturer with no response. (I wanted a spare in case this happened again). I am worried about my mushrooms, zoos, rics and briarium.

At this moment I have a 48" 130 watt 50/50 PC fixture sitting on top of my 3 gal! I'm going to monitor temp and cut down on the photo period.

I also have an old fixture from a 10 gal with a 15 watt actinic only sitting around. What should I do until I can figure out a good solution for a new light? Should I try to find a 50/50 and put it in the 10 gal fixture, or just leave the 130 watts on there? Please help

Pick up a daylight curly fluoro bulb and a desk lamp if you don't have one around. That will work just fine on your tank.

Here's what the bulbs look like,

and here is a single bulb lighting a sump

This will get you through for an extended period of time.
