its houseing 1- acro, 1- clam, candy coral, misc. zoo's, few mushrooms, xiena

and has 96w pc over it now. i just got the 150w 14k fixture in that will be on my 29g- 20g ref. However that wont be up and going for a few months

so can i put that on the 10g untill then. And the new tank wont be ready for any live stock for a whlie either. so i would have to take the light off in a few months to. ( that makes no sense does it )

i just don't want to Burn any thing or shock them

I use 2 150s on a 40g long. It's extremely bright. If you do this, you'll definately need to shade your caulastrea(candy cane)dicscoma(mushrooms) and probably some of the zoanthus. The acro and the clam should start at the bottom, You will also be wasting alot of light. and using up your bulb. The typical halide bulb casts strong illumination over a 2 by 2 foot footprint.

I'll add this in...

Probably my favourite nano I've seen so far is this one.

150W MH over a 10g. I think it looks great.

I ran a 175W over a 10 for about 3 years with great success. I kept a mixed softy/stony reef. I never had any problems with too much light. The only thing I would caution you about is switching back to the CF fixture. Your corals will acclimate to the higher intensity light and may have some trouble reverting to the weaker CF.

That is true. I had one 12V 80mm with a matching 80mm exhaust hole on the other side and never saw more than a 3 degree temp swing.
