I need to add some more flow for my 24 GAllon Aquapod.

I need somefeedback on which flow I should get.

Hydor Koralia nano (heard the flow was a little weak)

Hydor koralia #1 or a tunze nanostream 6025.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks

I have the Koralia 1 and the Nanostream 6025. The Koralia makes a little more noise, and takes up more space. Plus it puts out quite a bit less flow. Go with the Nanostream, 660 gph/24g= 27.5x turnover per hour. Will actually be more than that because you probably don't have 24 gallons of water

I just put a koralia 1 in my nanocube, and wished i would have gone nanostream, ONLY because of the size.

i just bought 2 nanostream 6025s for my 28g and going to mod them; it was recommended to me. i have the hydor koralia#1 in my tank and am dissapointed with the size and how much it puts out

How are you modding them? I've heard of the mod to remove the plastic cage inside the housing, just in front of the impeller. Something other than this?

mine was $16 more... and even if it was twice the price, i would have paid. You do get what you pay for

i went to my lfs with the intention of picking up two koralia 1's, but when i put my hand in front of a #4 and then a tunze 6025 there was no question which pump i should get. the nanostream pushed water furthur than the koralia.

I'd personally go with the Nanostream, My bf has two of them in his 265 with two other Tunze pumps. those little pumps really move some water. I've now got the nanostream on my Christmas list.

I have the Aquapod 24 with both: Tunze Nanostream 6025 and also the Hydor Koralia 1. I have them setup to my reefkeeper2 to alternate. The Tunze comes on for 90 minutes and shuts off and then the Hydor comes on for 90 minutes. I personally don't hear a difference in the two except for the Tunze when it starts up chatters a bit. If I had to limit myself to one it would be the Tunze, but for my application the combination of the two is nice due to the difference in flow.

I like the nanostream 6025 for my 20gallon tanks but I use the koralina nano's in my 12 gallon tanks. They both seem perfect for the application. You might also want to try the MaxiJet with the mod kit although it was to strong for my 12gallon it may have worked in the 20

I've been looking at the Tunze nanostreams recently.. if you compare the sizes, the tunze's are smaller... it may not be much, but when you're looking at tanks our size, every inche means a lot... Tunze 6025 (660gph) is 2.7" and the koralia 2 (600gph) is 2 7/8" x 5 7/8"... just my opinion...

i followed the example on this page. i used nail clippers and that was a bad choice, broke two of them lol. it would be a lot easier if you had a dremel or just something thats stronger. im a clutz when it comes to doing diy stuff, but it came out well
