My lfs has green carpet anemone probably about 10" across and its only a bit smaller than the tank its in, It looks great! full colour eating well good foot attachment and everything the tank its in probably holds about 10gallon, so can i move it to my 15gallon that is 24" long and about as wide as the tank the carpets in, Also what lighting would be better the LFS has just HO T5 bulbs not halides, so is it possible?

I would say no.

The LFS's just hold them in those tanks till the unsuspecting soul buys it...the longer it sits the worse shape they usually are. In your little tank that thing is gonna make water quality really bad and if it's not stable it will just die anyways.

They have "mini-carpet anenomes" that only get to be about an inch or two in diameter. Those would be better suited for your setup. Carpet anenomes get absolutely huge and definitely are not suited for a 15g tank, especially a new unstable one.

what about a BTA or a Malu then?

Honestly, you shouldn't be considering any SPS, clams, or anenomes until the tank has been setup for quite some time. Most would suggest at least 6 months for the tank to stabilize enough to support these creatures...

Most (if not all) anenomes will outgrow a tank this size.

i was going to wait about 6 -12 months before adding anything like that anyway i just wanted to find out first so i dint go out any buy something that would die straight away

Most of them aren't gonna die over night but they will eventually die if it's not up to their liking.

Some also run all their tanks on a system with a hujungous sump.

You also have to ask yourself if you have the skill to keep it.
