i bought a perc from the LFS and when i got it home i realized that his two bottom fins, ones on his belly, are joined together, instead of being two seperate fins.has anyone ever seen this?and is this going to affect him later on?right now he seems like he can swim okay, but doesnt really swim around too much

I wouldn't give him/her any excesive flow or aggressive 'food snatchers' as this could def. pose as a problem.

I had a FW like that and what I did was take a pair of very sharp scissors and cut it into two pieces......Is that something I would highly recomend, no. Because you have oppertunity for infection.

i thought about doing that, but i dont want to hurt or kill the poor fish.i dont know what to do.do you think the LFS would know how to seperate them?or would they maybe grow apart

i still can't see which ones are joined... but he looks a good size...if so, he's probably found away to adapt to his situation, he doesn't know any other way to swim

Leave him be as stated above. Unless it keeps him from competing for food or keeps him from staying away from aggressive fish and won't allow him to swim away.

he is only about an 1.25 inch. long.but i think he should be okay.it just worries me that he doesnt hide or really move at all.but he is eating so i guess hell be alright.
