anyone ever own one or have heard of anything about them at all, please help me out. I'm trying to start up a frag tank... possibly add a sump if it allows me... One issue I can think of is heat...

Let me know.
Thanks a bunch in advance.

yeah, it is a great tank. heat may be an issue though.

As long as you remove the glass top and replace the pump with a more efficient running pump (like a maxi-jet 900) you will most likely not have heat issues. I'm running a similar setup (NC 12 with the same halide fixture) and I keep my apartment in the low 70's, and the tank's temp maxes out at about 79-80 degrees.

I keep the top on mine, and my temps stay stable at about 82-83, I prefer to keep my tank at a higher temp, because the average temps worldwide is around 86.

Yep - it's a good setup. Run it open-top and you won't have heat issues.

Yea, definitely run it open top. You can run a cheap clip on fan over the water as well...if you're still having heat issues

I have the same setup. In the winter I run close top and in the summer I run open top. I haven't had any real heat issue with my AP12.

Take it slow and good luck on your setup.

Sorry... I just purchased the same system as the individual inquiring.... What do you mean by running the system with an open/close top. Further, what issues exist with the stock pump?

Thanks.
