Red Sea Max Mods!!

Well after reading through the first 12 pages of the Red Sea owners thread I decided to post this to try and get a more concentrated answer. What useful mods have been done to the Red Sea Max? I would especially like to get that stupid skimmer running better if anyone has any mods for that. Thanks in advance to all you red sea experts.

I've had my skimmer replaced and the second one isn't any better.
Mods that work:
1) drill 1/4" hole in skimmer cup lid , insert hose from skimmer pump valve. If nothing else, it makes it way quieter.
2) The "drop pump" mod seems to be working. Link=http://rsmreefers.com/mod6.htm
3) Ditch the black foam/filter pad (let the skimmer work) and run chemipure or Phosban type stuff after the skimmer.
4) Buy Tunze nano skimmer.

There's a couple guys on the RSM owners thread that have them. It attaches to the glass divider beside the heater compartment. They have install pic's in the thread somewhere.

Most common mods on the RSM:

- Add an extra circulation pump (koralia #1 usually)
- Add Hydor Flo diverters to the pump outputs
- Cut the black sponge in half.
- Replace "brandless" carbon with chemipure or phosban.
- Drill a hole in the skimmer lid and place the skimmer air intake there.

Expensive/Involving mods:

- Replace skimmer
- Add chiller
- Add sump
