What if any mods should be made to these if any I want to have sps's and maybe a clam

Do you have the Sunpod Metal Halide fixture or the stock power compact hood?

You would most definitely need Metal Halide lighting. (with either a Sunpod-style fixture or a retrofit into the hood) Also, you'd want to add a powerhead or two.

Also, keep in mind, that water quality stability is key with both SPS and clams.
