Please excuse me if this seems like a silly question, but here goes......

I have a HOB filter with two chambers. Would it be a good idea, beneficial if I put rubble rock & chaeto on one side and run carbon on the other?:confused:

Yes that would work. if you have a 55 gallon tank I would invest in a hangon overflow box, that would be the most ideal thing. Then you can put cheato and live rock rubble in the sump and run a canister filter or a filter sock with carbon in it in the direct flow of the water. Hope this helps.
