I was trying to break in a new lens on Sunday, so the wife and I took a short ride to Ott's Exotic Plants in Schwenksville not far from where we live. The place is simply amazing with thousands of exotic plants for sale and display from all over the world. They have a huge hill in the back of their building that they cover wall to wall this time of year with Mums. here are some quick hand held pics I took while there!

The rolling hills of mums on some of the closer shots are great! You've got talent beyond reef photography!
If you ever get to shoot a sunflower field in bloom please please let me know!

Thanks a million Ribs...if I could give it all up and just do one thing for the rest of my life and be happy...it would be photography of nature and landscapes!

Keep in mind the raws shots I took here are closer to 10MP...I shrunk them down big time to make it easier for RC!

Hey Steve, they are some nice shots. This is with your XTi, right? Which lens did you use?

Thank Mary! Yes I used the XTi. The lens I used was the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC Macro Lens i just picked up from B & H.

Nice. The macro I bought over the summer fish eye's when I try to use it on anything further away then 10-15 feet. It looks like your's has nice clean outside edges.

I'm going to have to check out B&H. I've been shopping for an all around lens, more like a 20-135mm so I'll see what they have in macro's too!

Is that where you bought your camera from too?

yes...I got the camera and all the memory cards from them. Their customer service is amazing. I had a problem with the first lens I bough from them. The covered the shipping back to them, and from the day I put the lens back in the mail to them till the day i got the new back was 7 days including a weekend!

Ott's is alot of fun, i used to love going there... family still does about once a year!

Yep...a truly one of a kind place. The things they sell are a little pricey, but you can't find many of the things they sell anywhere else!
