This was the 12g AP with the Sunpod combo that MD had. It was a really good deal, and looks a little better than the AGA 10g i was going to use,lol

A friend of mine ordered one on this deal too, except through Foster's, when I ordered mine in Feb the box had big signs on it saying "Do not ship by UPS", guess that's why, the newer one didn't say this but Foster's ship FEDEX. Hopefully there are enough in stock for you to get a replacement.

thats messed up, got mine yesterday, and it said on the box DO NOT SHIP UPS, mine was from DFS, and it was the hardest thing to unpack in my life...Sorry to hear about your tank, i know how exciting it is....

Not sure if I can jump in on this thread, or should start a new one, but....
I just received my own AP12 with sunpod, from marinedepot. No cracks in the glass, so I'm a bit luckier, I guess. But I have several questions for you experts. The instructions that come with it are not beginner level. What are the bags of white things in the back chambers? They look like little pieces of pipe or something. I suppose the bag of black stuff is a carbon filter? Also, I'm not so impressed with the light. It seems pretty dim, to me. The only thing I have to compare is my other tank, a biocube 14. It almost seems like the stock BC14 light is brighter then the sunpod, which I thought would be blinding.

mine came tues...ups, with a nice little hole in the side of the box.

luckily the actual tank was four boxes deep in there and all is well.

i have the reg 12g ap sitting next to this one ( from the sale at petmountian a few weeks ago) and the HQ looks more intense.

as for the ceramic media and bio balls, seems like it's just for packing because no one seems to use them.

There was a video a while back with either UPS or FedEx(dont remember which one) tossing a package football style up to the customer's porch.

So, I just found out that my new Aquapod 12 actually only holds 11 gallons (up to the very top). They should call it an Aquapod 11.
Say, how do people get the pump cord to come out of the back gracefully? (With the Sunpod top). It came with a plastic rectangle that covers the back chambers, but there is no slot for the power cord. Does everyone drill out a hole in the plastic cover?

Sorry to hear about the tank. I ordered some new bulbs and when the UPS box showed up it was "C" shaped. It looked like a monkey packaged it. The replacements came fedex and were very well packed (took me 5 minutes to get the bulbs out).

Did you get the replacement for free?

well guys,
I got in my replacement pod from MarineDepot, and this time the UPS guys didn't have a chance to break it.... BBUUUTTTTT , this one has a scratch on the inner left side of the tank. It's really bugging me and I don't know whether to return the tank or deal with it... what would u guys do?

All depends on if it causes a breakage threat. Aesthetically speaking, is the tank in a location where it can be viewed on all sides. For example my tank will only be viewed from the front and left side. I plan to let algae spead on the right side. Then again, DO what you feel is right and allows you to SLEEP at nite;) .

I'm an AP12/70HQI owner from Marine Depot. My tank came to me crystal clear.

Beautiful tank. More details! what skimmer and where, and what powerhead?

I'm using the Remora Nano/900MJ skimmer. Koralia mini inside tank. I switched the stock pump and placed it on my skimmer and took the 900 and placed it on the return. That is it. Pretty simple HUH. I do weekly 25% WC and place carbon in sump every other week. I have phosphate media along with chemi-pure in sump. I'm just waiting to get my cal, phos, stron test kits before adding livestock. All the other parameters are normal.
