I bought these zoanthids recently for very cheap. As you can see they are in pretty poor condition. Maybe I'm just crazy, but they look like REALLY crappy AoG's or something of the like, so I'd like to ask you zoa experts to see if I'm correct.
I'll have gotten an amazing deal on them if they actually regain their color and end up some rare like AoG's !

Thanks!

That's the best thing about getting frags cheap...you never know what they are going to turn into. I got a really cheap colony of plain brown palys...within 2 weeks of being in my tank, they have started to turn bright, neon, green. I'm very happy to say the least. Good luck with your new addition.

I'm not a real expert here but they look pretty good. But you really need to do a dip and get rid of those flat worms. If you look at your first pic there are flat worms all over them. I might be wrong but it really looks that way to me.

I hope you don't mind but I took your pic and circled where I saw what could be flat worms.

They should color up if you got them under good lighting and get rid of any parasites.

crazy_reefing, I noticed that right when I loaded in the photos on my computer. The worms are almost the EXACT color of the zoa stalks when they are in the tank so I couldn't see them. I did a 30s dip is dechlorinated water with iodine and I think they all died and fell off. Hopefully these guess with start looking a lot better soon!

I don't know about you guys, but I love this hobby because you can take something poor and sickly on the verge of death and bring it back. I just think that's so cool.

Colony looks discolored so you'll need to wait till they're nice and healthy to really tell. Right now the color looks more like it could be a nice pink rather than a metallic red/orange like the AOGs. Stores give you a chance at very cool coral for a cheap price. Good luck

Just put them in a good area with a ton of light and some good flow and youll know soon enough... I got a frag like that a long time ago and after some TLC they are one of my favorites...
