The RC sponsor "Two Part Solutions" has great deals on high quality carbon (phosphate free), ferric oxide phosphate remover as well as other items. There are also discounts available for reef clubs. The more of an item one orders, the lower the price. I would personally like the carbon, phosphate remover, magnesium chloride and kalkwasser. I will place order regardless for myself and the zoo. Give a shout if interested. The only hassle will be dividing up the contents. People would need to provide containers and a scale would be helpfull but we could eyeball it. Anybody have a triple beam scale from their (former) druggie days:)?

I was going to make a post about the same thing... I'm definately in on carbon... Split a 15lb bucket 2 or 3 ways.... No dice on the scale though.

OK Adam. Looks like its you and me. Let me know what you'd like and we can split the carbon and I can order it. BTW, I forgot to post the thread for anyone else who might be interested : http://www.twopartsolution.com/
I can wait a few days before placing the order.

The Lignite carbon looks fine to me. I don't know how much you need for yourself and the zoo... but I'd be in for 10 lbs if we want to get a 40 lb bag.($30 + shipping ea.) I bet we could find a 4th if need be. Otherwise I'll take 1/2 or 1/3 of the 15lb. It's really up to you. Just let me know.

Hello,
Has anyone every used Lignite carbon. I've been using bituminous carbon (Black Diamond). Read a review were Black Diamond was one of the better carbons. Do not have much info on the Lignite.

Thanks.

I could use the 10 lbs of carbon and some ferric oxide phosphate remover. Not sure how much I would need, I have not used this before? It looks like 1/2 gallon (~2 lbs) would last a while, but let me know.

Thanks,
Brian

Some things I picked up from the URS thread:
use the coupon code "2partrox" and get an additional 10% off the GFO , carbon , rock and RO/DI equipment.
And additional club promotional details in the attachment.

I would also be interested in some GFO pellets (phosban)

So how do you guys want to do this? One large order or getting the individual deliveries at wholesale with the reef club membership. It appears that splitting bulk orders is cheaper.

I'm in on a bulk order... count me in for ~2lbs GFO, ~7-10 lbs carbon. Give or take, whatever we need to make the order.

If you need a 5th party for the carbon and/or GFO, let me know.

Thanks,
Mike

OK. I will purchase a 40 lb bag of the lignite carbon to be split between Nate, Adam, Bsamuelson and the Zoo as well as a 1 gallon (9 lb.) bucket of pelletized GFO to be split with Adam, BSamuelson, Myself and the zoo. When the order comes in, folks will have to pick up their portion at my house so bring containers. We will have to "eyeball" the shares unless someone has a scale. Are all involved in favor? Please respond ASAP since I'd likle to get the order out.

sounds good to me, and I'm sure measuring by volume would be fine.

I also ordered two gallons of magnesium chloride for 15.99. If one of you guys want some of that at a porportional price let me know.

It looks like magnesium chloride would be used in one of the two-part recipes. I wouldn't mind trying some.
