The Ocean Nutrition guy at their MACNA booth put on a very good presentation about their new marine food line. I was thinking of asking if their local rep would be willing join us for a similar presentation.

That got me thinking that it might be nice to host a meeting at a LFS in conjunction with a vendor presentation. It would be an opportunity for the LFS, for the vendor, and for us in that we could open the meeting to non-members (LFS customers) and possibly drum up some membership.

Thoughts?

From Country Living in Mechanicsville. He hosted a meeting before and is open to do more in the future. Tony at Swamp Bottom is another option- though far for most to drive.

At MACNA I found the Ocean Nutrition guy and the Ushio guy to have the most interesting presentations. The Ushio Rep had charts and graphs showing the output of their lamps over their useful life, talked about Kelvin, etc.

If we could have certain vendors/manufacturers come to town and present their products, who would you most want to hear from?

I would come- but to be honest, for it to be worth their while, EVERYONE in the area should be encouraged to come.

I mentioned about this to Ryan the other day and he said he'd be interested. Just gotta let him know when and all that fun stuff...

Sounds like a good idea to me!

Also, having it open to other clubs sounds good too!

Chris- I've had a fair amount of interactions with a lot of vendors, so let me know if you there are some specific people that we could contact as well.

Awesome! Thanks Michael.

As I mentioned, I was particularly impressed with Ocean Nutrition's and Ushio's presentations at MACNA, but I'm open to anything that might be fun and informative.
