Poss ID on this LPS

Hi, picked up what was labelled as an elephant eye (if thats correct) but it could be either a Cynarina Lacrymalis or a Indophyllia Macassarensis - or even a Scolymia - im really unsure.

Its a stunner though - has a large conical base not unlike a Trachyphyllia but its massive in comparison - easily 4-5" diameter. There is also a 2nd head growing from the side of the base as you can see in the 2nd picture. Is it part of the same coral of a different coral entirely ?

Any definitive ID is much appreciated.

So is the 2nd head a different coral (i.e one that has attached itself) or is is growing from the base of the larger coral ? Just wondering whether it can be cut off and placed elsewhere or not ? Not too much information on scolys does anybody have any links ?

Apologies for posting in wrong spot......

Anyway too another couple of pics today and as you can see the coral on the side is alot more inflated today - ive turned the coral skeleton around more to show it better. In contrast you can see the size of it in comparison to the main head of the coral as well.

Ok the front coral is a Scolymia Australis but the jury is still out on the coral behind it.......

IMO one side is Cynarina deshayesiana (green one- looks a lot like scolymia) and the other Cynarina lacrymalis (brown one).

Are you sure guys - I thought they were both scolys but did think the brown one was a lacyrmalis........

Nope Cynarina...i checked julian sprungs' book on corals, plus i have the lacrymalis, exactly like yours and I have a scolimya australis and it has its differences although very alike. The scoly is less fleshy.

Thanks Geris, is that Acanthophyllia deshayesiana then - I know that they are similar in appearance to the Scolymia Australis except for the extension of the polyps. Im in agreement about the Lacrymalis now thanks.....
